The Shuswap Paddling Club is a volunteer-driven community that brings people together through Dragon Boating and Outrigger Canoeing on the beautiful waters of the Shuswap.
Since 2004, we’ve been creating opportunities for people of all backgrounds and abilities to be active, connect with others and experience the unique perspective of being out on the lake. Programs are based out of Marine Peace Park at the Salmon Arm Wharf and Canoe Beach, where the setting is as rewarding as the activity itself.
You are welcome here. We are committed to building an inclusive and respectful environment where everyone feels comfortable getting started, learning new skills and being part of a team. If you’re unsure how your individual needs might fit within our programs, we encourage you to reach out—we’re always open to a conversation about how we can support your experience on the water.
As a non-profit society, everything we do is made possible by our volunteers and the support of our community.

MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS
At the heart of the Shuswap Paddling Club is a welcoming, community-driven environment where people come together to stay active, connect with others and enjoy their time on the water. Whether you’re new to paddling or returning to it later in life, you’ll find a place here.
We offer women’s, men's and mixed teams and encourage youth to join a program. Our programs are open to participants aged 16 and older to ensure safe use of equipment and a supportive on-water experience for everyone. We provide the instruction, equipment and guidance you need to get started with confidence. Our experienced coaches create a safe, encouraging atmosphere where you can learn at your own pace and build skills while improving your fitness. Many members join to stay active and meet new people. Others are drawn to the opportunity to train and compete at festivals locally, across the province and beyond.
Whether your goal is social, recreational, or competitive, there’s a pathway for you. Along the way, you’ll experience the unique beauty of the Shuswap from the water—something our members often describe as one of the most rewarding parts of being involved.
"No experience is required - just a willingness to try something new!"
If you feel inspired to support the Shuswap Paddling Club, we would love to hear from you.
As a volunteer-driven non-profit organization, our programs are made possible through the time, energy and generosity of our community.
